Alternative Titles: Viewfinder Series, Target in the Finder, Viewfinder, Finder (and Koisuru side stories etc.)
Mangaka: Yamane Ayano
Status: On-going
Genre: Action, Adult, Comedy, Mature, Romance, Yaoi

Finally, I am able to tackle this surprising update. In my previous review with Yamane Ayano's Viewfinder series, I had deliberately labeled the manga series as 'complete' as other manga sites have labeled it so. And now a couple of months earlier, Yamane-sensei presents us with new updates with her supposedly finished series.

In this new arc called "Escape and Love," the story picks up after their Hong Kong escapades with Fei Long in the previous volume, Naked Love. So far, there are three chapters released so the story is kind of vague. Yet with what has progressed so far, it seems that after stopping some harasser in the hospital, that harasser turned to stalking Takaba for what reasons that are still unknown. I really can't say much since the progress of the story has been pretty slow. But like I said, it's still on to chapter three so probably the main plot won't be long to be revealed.

Also, I failed to mention this previously. There are a couple of side stories that are released alongside the Viewfinder series namely: Love Lesson (& Gakou Kaidan), Koisuru (Shokubutsu & DNA), Risky Society: God Bless My Justice, and Baked Sweet Glasses. Those in parentheses follow the same characters and have their own parent story. I haven't really concentrated on those stories because, like I said, they're just side stories released alongside with the Viewfinder series. But I might think of reviewing those one-shots or probably one of my co-authors will pick those up.

Going back, the current volume of Escape and Love released a two-part Koisuru segment that overlaps with the Viewfinder series entitled Koisuru Finder no Hyouteki (Target in the Finder in Love). I think it's pretty neat since so far with Yamane-sensei's works, this is the first time that I've encountered a collaboration with her works. Kind of like what CLAMP does. The story of this segment is pretty decent; the collaboration went pretty well with Koisuru as the main story and Takaba and Asami being "visitors" in this release, which should only be natural. I hope Yamane-sensei will also do this in the future as I pretty much enjoyed reading it. So go, read, and catch up! ^_^

(yes, i am very sleepy. yes, i haven't proofread this yet. and no, i can't find a decent picture for the collaboration one.)

edit: done proofreading. yay me!

  1. Wow! I never expect Yamane-sensei would continue this manga. It has been, I believe, her longest running manga, aside from Crimson Spell (woot! this is a nice story too!). I will update myself about viewfinder then XD
